CIVIC Special Events is a program that will place you on an ” on-call” list for special events being held by our partner agencies throughout the year and Peoria area such as “Duryea Days”, Peoria “River Sweep”, and “Christmas Tree Lane”. At these special events you will be asked to help with various tasks such as registration table, selling tickets, face painting, greeting attendees, passing out programs, and food sales.

Volunteering can be done at an agency of your choice. If you do not know where you would like to volunteer, a CIVIC representative can assess your needs and abilities and can match with you an agency in the area who is in need of volunteers. Visit our List of Agencies tab to learn more about agencies who are currently signed up with CIVIC.

If you are an individual looking to volunteer and looking to become a CIVIC Volunteer, but are not yet of the required CIVIC age of 14, this is acceptable. CIVIC understands your want to volunteer and will not refuse you from being a CIVIC Volunteer. The volunteer placement may require some extra guidance or could be subject to agency approval.
